| This shot of the
Crescent nebula was taken over two nights. The raw frames were first processed
in Astroart for bias removal and high pass filtering. The colour and luminance
frames were then combined in Photoshop. The Ha luminance and red channels
were combined 50/50 and this new image was used as the red in the RGB composite.
Finally the Ha luminance was layered onto the new RGB. The colour and contrast
were then manipulated using hue and curves respectively. The shot was guided
using the Apogee 80mm dia, 900mm focal length guide scope, which produced
good tracking and nice star images meaning that little processing was needed.
I think that the shot could be improved with longer exposures, particularly
the colour elements. |
