| Following the recent
solar flare activity, we were treated to an Aurora display on the 30 October
2003. The lights were visible from around 20:00 and would have easily been
mistaken for light polution. Unfortunately I was unable to photograph these
very bright early lights due to a DIY project, however, I did catch these
shots of a weaker display from my back garden in the early hours of the
31 October. I was fortunate as they faded just after 01:20. This was the
first time that I have seen the lights from the UK, particularly special
given that I am located about 40 miles from the south coast. |
